SERVICES

Milo's Custom Jewelers provides a wide variety of professional services that are performed onsite.

Custom Design

Milo's Custom Jewelers helps you to create a custom one of a kind piece for you or a loved one. Our master jeweler and jewelry specialists will assist you in creating a unique piece of jewelry for your specific budget. They will educate you on the breakdown of what the materials cost (diamonds, gold, etc), how long it will take to make and labor charge (certain designs will take longer to make than others; Milo charges an hourly rate for his labor), and lastly the price of the wax.  At Milo's, we pride ourselves on being honest and straight forward about pricing and what you can expect from us; we will work with your budget.

CAD (Computer-Aided Design)/ Wax

Traditional hand-drawing and drafting methods are still utilized in designing jewelry, particularly at the conceptual stage, but a shift is taking place to computer-aided design programs like Rhinoceros 3D. Whereas the traditionally hand illustrated piece is typically translated into wax or metal directly by a skilled craftsman, a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model is generally used as the basis for a 3D printed 'wax' pattern to be used in the wax casting processes. When you create a custom piece at Milo's Custom Jewelers, we show you on the computer what your design will look like. After you approve the CAD, we print a wax model for you to try on and look at for final approval. Our customers love that they get to see every step of the fabrication process.

Casting

Casting is a process in which melted metal is poured into a mold and allowed to harden.   After a piece of jewelry is removed from the mold, it is filed, polished and, if need be, set with diamonds or gemstones. At Milo's Custom Jewelers, we do castings onsite. Most jewelry stores send their waxes or molds out to be cast. You can find piece of mind knowing your jewelry is staying in one place. Also, the method Milo uses to cast your piece into gold or platinum heats the metal to the perfect temperature to ensure that there is no porosity in the finished product. When the metal isn't heated to the appropriate temperature, little bubbles or holes form. This will cause the finished product to look low quality and unattractive.
